Vegetarian Diet is not the Ultimate Answer

No matter what the world might think, vegetarians are not completely protected against cardiovascular diseases and high cholesterol, and they can develop other severe conditions. The only thing that makes vegetarians ahead of the rest in circulatory problems in the fact that they do not eat fats almost at all.

Also, these types of alimentation can diminish the risk of certain types of cancer, like colon cancer and breast cancer. This doesn’t mean that being a vegetarian does not impose any health risks. It’s a known fact that living healthy means living with moderation, not with prohibitions.

Since so many people today experience weight problems, they all want to encounter the best fat loss secrets, and because the vegetarian diet seems so healthy and convincing, they are inclined to go for it. In general, vegetarians pay more attention to their alimentation, don’t smoke and practice sports. So, in a way they lead a healthier life. If vegetarian would only exclude a few aliments, then they could have a balanced diet. But since the vegetarians tend to almost always avoid animal-based products, they are doomed to have an unbalanced diet no matter what they try.

Respectable nutritional studies that were conducted on vegetarians show that this group of people must be lacking certain vital aliments, since they all have major deficits of iron, zinc, calcium and vitamin D, deficits which will later cause problems.

The truth is that vegetarians are a group of people who don’t actually lead the healthy life they believe they lead. But even if they feel full, their body cells will not get enough elements to stay healthy. The thin tissue that surrounds cells will lose it’s protein composition in time and the bone density will decrease. We should not forget about the danger of osteoporosis, a disease that can irreversibly damage bone tissue, causing fractures and immobility.

The smart diets will always be based on balance and will never prohibit the consumption of essential elements. These diets should be based on moderation, on general health and not on starving ourselves or our bodies. Even if a vegetarian is thinner than the average person and usually is busier, seeming to have an active life, it doesn’t mean that he is as healthy as a person who eats moderately everything.
