Where do you want your weight loss story to go? In a perfect world losing weight would not be a problem. Getting the type of body that you really want would do wonders for your health and your happiness.

Stories such are these are far and few between, many peoples weight loss stories end sadly. The common story is of people trying numerous methods of losing weight, but never succeeding in their goals for any length of time.

Your weight loss story is probably similar to many others:

You go on a diet
You reduce your calories
You attempt to eat a healthier diet
You begin to do some exercise
You begin to drop a few pounds
It becomes harder to carry on
Your results slow down
You are no longer getting any results
The weight begins to return
You get frustrated
You try another diet

Does this sound familiar? Unfortunately for many people who want to lose weight, this is very familiar. What is the solution to this problem?

First of all you will need to stop thinking that dieting is the only answer to your weight problems. Of course what you eat and how much you eat has an important role in the shape of your body right now. However too much emphasis is placed on diet and not enough on exercise. Your body has evolved over millions of years to be physically active. The human body was not designed for dieting.

When you fill your car with gas, this gas will just sit there unless the car starts moving. Your body is the same. The fuel that you put into your body needs to be burned. If you carry on pouring fuel into your body without using it, at some point it will spill out. This fuel can only be burned through physical activity.

Looking back into the past shows us that obesity was a rarer condition. This happened because many people were forced to be far more active. This wasn't through choice, it was more out of necessity. People walked more and a lot of jobs were more physically demanding. People never ate healthier, they just had to move more.

You don't have to sell your car or begin working on a building site. The physical activities of the past have to be replaced by other forms of physical activity. If you want your weight loss story to have a happy ending, it will mean exercise. Sure, eat healthier, but crank up your physical activities.

Don't try to work too hard in the gym. It means that you need to do more in slow steps. Just doing the same thing again and again will give you the same results again and again. You will then start to ask yourself why you have stopped losing weight.

The human body can reach very high levels of physical activity. Clearly it will be difficult, but where is the pleasure in attaining something that takes no effort. It all depends how much you want it and if you want a happy ending to your weight loss story.
